Map of Verulam Township: Schools, Churches & Cheese Factories
This project is in Memory of Joan Bates (nee Oliver).
Selected excerpts from the history of Verulam Township have been made available online by the Verulam Roots Committee. Our main source of information was a 1973 Opportunities for Youth booklet, “Verulam View” by Jennifer Knox, Lloyd Junkin and Joan Knox. John Bick provided additional research information and completed the writing. Morris Ingram coordinated photos with stories and all other input.
Special thanks to Edwin Niemeyer who scanned the historical map of Verulam Township, Geo-Referenced it in the GIS Software and added the locations of the Churches, Schools and Cheese Factories with all their attributes. With the tabs he created, map website users can access both photos and the accompanying descriptions.
Members of The Verulam Roots Committee were John Bick, Morris Ingram, Al Ingram, Maureen Lytle, Jean Pogue, Joan Harpell and Eleanor Staples.
